I have an irrational fear of overheating. Growing up in Missouri (like you!), I saw people pass out next to the pool because of heat exhaustion. Now if the sun is out (even at 8:30 in the morning) and there is no shade to be found, I convince myself I will die if I keep going. Do you have any suggestions on how to combat this and become more accustomed to running in the heat?
Have you read Born to Run? If so, what did you think of it? And, as a result, are you now going to start running barefoot?
What does your near-vegan diet look like in everyday life? What are your reasons for shunning most animal products?
There are so many training schedules available, it can be a little overwhelming. Do you have any favorites?
